An alternative to Gay pride Queer Voices: Beyond the Queer Mainstream, 7 hours of special queer programming, and hear radical and marginalized queer voices going beyond the mainstream gay movement.

 

You will hear voices from the lgbt community from around the world and around the bay bringing you cutting edge queer art, culture and analysis. We will present a radical critique of same sex marriage and a critique of the mainstreaming of the gay movement. and you will hear the voices of queer immigrants orgainizing to be heard , black transmen finding healing, queer activists in europe, russia and elsewhere challenging homophobia in their cultures and racism in their own queer community and much more. Join us as we celebrate Queer pride with the rainbow of voices of the progressive lgbt community

The Sunday Show with Philip Maldari

A look at the evolution of Pride from the 70's to the present with activist, Charlie Hinton.
Issues for LGBTQ Youth with Denny David, Deputy Director LYRIC, Lavender Youth Recreation and Information Center.
What Did the Supreme Court Say? with Melissa Goodman of the ACLU and Jenny Pizer of Lambda Legal


11 am - 12 noon

Beyond Gay Marriage and the Mainstream Gay Movement

Radical queer activists Dean Spade, Kenyon Farrow and Mattilda Bernstein Sycamore explain about what is wrong with the focus on Gay marriage, gay’s’ in the military and the mainstreaming of the gay movement what a radical queer movement would look like)

 

12 noon – 1 pm

Homonationalism and Pinkwashing

Sarah Schulman and Jabir Puar talk about how the some gays have become incorporated into the state and Gay rights is now being used by some states like Israel to demonstrate how democratic they are to disguise their human rights abuses of Palestinians by Israel or racism in the U.S

 

1pm - 2 pm

Queer voices from the margin

Black Trans men talk about dealing with the trauma of Transphobia, racism and sexism and finding healing in poetry, community and activism;  and the voices of homeless Queers surviving in NYC.

 

2pm - 3pm

Living Queer

Undocuqueer or undocumented Queer immigrants coming out and organizing with the Immigrant rights movement and a critique by Yasmin Nair;and gay bar owner Concetta DeLuca talks about life before Stonewall, in a small gay bar 50 years ago. 

 

3pm - 4pm

Outliers: Queers in Hostile Territory

Will look at the complex identities and struggles of transnational queers, especially those from Muslim countries like Egypt, Kyrgyzstan; and humorist PhDyke Mickey Eliason, talks about her book the Dyke Diagnostic Manual and the “multi-faceted pathological phenomenon” she terms dyke drama.

 

4pm - 5pm

Queers Activists Creating Healing

 We talk to 5 Queer Activist about how they integrate healing into their activism.

 

5pm - 6pm 

Rock en Rebelión

A urgent poem for Bradley Manning, by Angelina Llongueras; A commentary of the offical gay pride day in San Francisco with James Albert; Democracy Now! en Español; Plus, Synthpop from Mexico City with Maria Campos and David Chacón.

 

6:30 pm - 7:30pm

Queer Rebels

Excerpts from Queer Rebels production panel of queer Asian American activists and artists; childhood sexual abuse in the Queer community; and  Fire Dragon Love Sauce, the “official” hot sauce for gay marriage, created by Filipino and Colombian performance artists.
