La Peña Celebrates its 35th Anniversary510-849-2568 or lapena.orgThere will be a Bombazo Birthday party that evening with Las Bomberas De La Bahia and Rebel Diaz (from NY) starting at 9:30 pm. at La Peña.  Tickets are $12/advance; $14/door.  For its 35 Anniversary Street Festival on June 5, La Peña showcases the talents and treasures of its diverse community, young and old, with a showcase of students and faculty who will perform Afro-Cuban, Afro-Peruvian, Puerto Rican, African, Chilean and other Latin American dances on the stage of Prince and Shattuck streets, beginning at noon. Artists and community organizations will share their work as part of the celebrations.The performers are:Danza Azteca, Latin Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Josh Jones, Chilean singer songwriter Osvaldo Torres, Gabriela Shiroma's Carnavles De Mi Pueblo,Adult & Youth Bomba Y Plena Adult & Youth Classes with Shefali Shah & Hector Lugo, Afro-Peruvian Adult & Youth Dance & Cajon Classes with Pedro Rosales & Gabriela Shiroma, Jessie Servi's West African Djembe Drum Class, Araucauria w/Rafael Manriquez, La Peña Community Chorus and Willard Middle School/La Peña Latin Jazz Ensemble w/Chus Alonzo.  Co-sponsored by KPFA
