San Rafael Public Library Presents Senior Care 101: Making Sense of Senior Services

The San Rafael Public Library will present a panel presentation,

“Senior Care 101: Making Sense of Senior Services”

Thursday, November 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

San Rafael’s City Council Chambers.

A panel of six experts will discuss and answer questions on a variety of topics and issues with which seniors, their families, and their caregivers face on an ongoing basis. The panel was organized by Ben Lewis and Mimi Schrieber, and offered as a free program to local libraries. San Rafael has a very active group of seniors who regularly use the Library and attend its programs, and, according to City Librarian David Dodd, “this seemed like a great opportunity to offer something of real value to our patrons.” Lewis is the founder of Engage as You Age. He regularly speaks and leads panel discussions at churches, synagogues, public libraries, YMCAs and senior professional associations, and has been a featured guest on the CBS show “Start-Up Spotlight” and as an “Aging Innovator” on GilbertGuide.com. Before founding Engage As You Age, Ben worked as a teacher and as a volunteer in India, Zimbabwe, Taiwan and Bethesda, Maryland.
Other panelists include Kim Schwarcz: Owner, Schwarcz Fiduciary; David Kitaen, CLTC: Long-Term Care Insurance; Tessa ten Tusscher, PhD: Founder & CEO, Living Well Assisted Living At Home; Mimi Schrieber: Director, Senior Access; and Marc Kreissman: Managing Director, Hatch Retirement Services.
