SIERRA LEONE'S REFUGEE ALLSTARS

On Saturday, July 12th from 7:00pm to 10:00pm, San Rafael opens its Festival of Summer Nights with Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars. This multi-cultural , multi-generational, outdoor event is perfect for families. It will take place at the Osher Marin Jewish Community Center at 200 North San Pedro Road in San Rafael. MOON TRIBUTE

On July 12th at 7:30pm, the Metaquizzical cafe at Lydia's Sunflower Center in Petaluma will present “A Tribute to the Moon and Other Heavenly Bodies.” Jim and Kathy Ccean will serve up their unique blend of 'thought rock' for those seeking fresh lyrical commentary. ANNUAL PASTORS FOR PEACE CARAVAN

On July 15th, at 6:30PM, The Fresno Center for Nonviolence hosts their Annual Pastors for Peace Cuba Caravan and potluck. Long time caravan coordinator, Manolo De Los Santos will speak about his work with Pastors for Peace and there will be a special musical performance by Patricia and The Generaciones. The event takes place at the EcoGarden on 2231 West Dakota Avenue in Fresno.

On Friday July 18th at noon, Dancer's Group and World Arts West present “A Tribute to Nelson Mandela.” The show includes performace by Diamano Coura West African Dance Company, sacred Zulu rituals, and community-led African drumming circle. CREATIVITY & HEALING THROUGH YOGA & QIGONG

Drawing from the healing traditions of Yoga and Qigong, Dr. Amelia Barili will teach at the Mount Madonna Center, located at 445 Summit Road in Watsonville. Her sessions will include:

- a morning routine for vitality and centering,
- gentle movements to gather and store energy from nature,
- acupressure-style self-massage and release points,
- a form of self inquiry to find innovative solutions to your problems, and
- a night routine for a restful sleep.

The short session is from July 18 through July 20. The extended session is from July 18

through July 23.

37TH ANNUAL BAY AREA PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL

From July 18 to July 20 the Bay Area Playwrights Foundation will present part of the 37th Annual Bay Area Playwrights Festival. The BAPF is a prestigious new play development festival and each year it introduces new work by mostly unknown writers.
