On Thursday, April 24, from 9pm until midnight, Ashkenaz presents the Joe Escobar Quintet as part of their "Swing in the Spring" Thursday night dance series, featuring the biggest and best swing bands in the Bay Area. How to Make an Ecosocialist Revolution

Come hear Ian Angus, the Canadian ecosocialist activist and editor of the journal, "Climate and Capitalism". He will be speaking at Humanist Hall, 390 27th St, Oakland between Telegraph Ave and Broadway St. His talk is entitled, "How to Make an Ecosocialist Revolution". A discussion will follow. The event is a benefit for the Bay Area branch of System Change Not Climate Change, a new national organization of ecosocialists and is co-sponsored by the Kendra Alexander Foundation. The Humanist Hall is wheelchair accessible.

On April 26th, at 7 PM, “Equality for All,” a documentary featuring former Secretary of Labor, Robert Reich, will be shown at the IBEW Hall; 6250 Village Parkway, Dublin, CA.  Robert Reich explains the greatest economic divide in America’s history and what we can do about it.  This is an entertaining film and has some of the most lucid explanations for this situation that I’ve heard.
