This program is a tribute to the late, great timbalero Manny Qquendo, who passed away on March 25th of 2009 at age 78. The year listed on this playlist sometimes does not accurately indicate when the recordings were made, but when the recording was released in CD form. For example, the Tito Puente and Tito Rodriguez pieces were actually recorded in 1950 and 1956, respectively; Eddie Palmieri's "Molasses" in the mid-60s; and the Grupo Folklorico selections in the mid-70s.
