"Kind of Blue" is celebrating its 50th year since it was loosely cobbled together by Miles Davis along with John Coltrane, Julian Cannonball Adderly, Bill Evans, Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb. The latter, Jimmy Cobb, is the only living member of the group and has formed "The So What Band" to recreate the magic from that recording session. Today's show intersperses music from "Kind of Blue" with studio out-takes and interview of Jimmy Cobb and Larry Willis by Ashley Kahn recorded at the NOLA Jazzfest on May 2nd.
