Playlist: In Your Ear for October 3, 2009 - 4:00pm

The first three pieces are dedicated to Gina Hotta of KPFA's Apex Express, who died on 9/28/09 of a heart attack at age 56. Her greatest legacy are the young people who she mentored and who will carry on her struggle to give voice to Asian and Pacific Islander communities in their quest for peace and social justice. Gina carried the torch and has passed it on to the next generations who she helped nurture. So in a very real sense, Gina's spirit will live on through all those who she touched.
From 5:00-5:30pm, Nina Menendez of the Bay Area Flamenco Partnership talks to program host Art Sato about the upcoming Bay Area performances of the legendary flamenco singer Inés Bacán.
