Happy Thanksgiving, Happy UN-Thanksgiving. This morning, as always I seek to make a program that CONNECTS us to the wider world around us. It is ALWAYS appropriate onthis day to begin the program with music from Native American peoples. However, in this new and unwelcome shortened format of the Music of the World show I feel unable to do true justice to those particular voices.... the first set moves through a range of different global indigenous peoples and we then celebrate more of a hybrid of global immigrants and migrants from one part of the world to another: Morocco to France, The World to Rome [check out the movie Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio], Algeria to Ecuador, Nigeria to the Bay.
