The last time my show fell on April Fools Day I served up an elaborate April Fool presenting a show of dismal music presented by one of my more pathetic alter egos, Hughie Greene with a celebrated 'Ethnomusicologist", Dr. August Hubert, calling in from the Central Valley with a cast of wailing banshees.
Today, with Music of the World chopped down to a 1 hour show, I felt such a gag would be inappropriate - there's simply not enough time to mess about: I always feel squeezed just trying to even get started on all the things I want to put into such a truncated time slot. Nevertheless I included some classic Scots whimsy in the form of Ivor Cutler in today's, mainly vocally oriented, show. Hope you like it.
